Costumes for All

ABOUT TESIA DUGAN BENSON
The Full Story
I have always loved these things:
Art, history, fashion, and imagining what other people's lives are like.
As a young person, I was continually doing these two things:
Checking out fashion history books and copying the drawings AND reading as much as possible.

As an adult I find these things to be true:
I find that costume design satisfies all the things that I love. I love the process of digging into a character, whether for a play, musical, opera or dance piece and helping create a full vision of their life for the stage. Whether in the early stages of the design process, in the thick of fittings or dress rehearsals, my goal is always to do these three things:
Make art.
Have a good time.
Get s*** done.

In pursuit of this career, I had the distinct pleasure of attending graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In addition to my design work, I am an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Baldwin Wallace University.
